Fake TV crew back to Mexico to serve 30-year sentences

EIGHTEEN Mexicans posing as TV journalists who were sentenced to 30 years in jail for drug trafficking in Nicaragua, have been transferred to Mexico to serve out their sentences.

 

The Mexicans, led by Raquel Alatorre Correa, considered the ringleader of the group, were handed over to Mexican authorities at the Managua airport amid tight security operation involving more than a hundred special agents, reports the Efe news agency.

Nicaraguan police chief Ramon Avellan said that the group , along with three other Mexican convicted of drug trafficking , will serve their sentences in Mexico.
Alatorre , who was posing as the press chief of Televisa , was arrested along with 17 other Mexicans on August 20, 2012 at a security post in the border area of Nicaragua with Honduras carrying $9.2 million in drugs.
