Two more deaths linked to Dengue
CONFIRMATION is awaited that the latest two deaths during the dengue epidemic are the result of the disease.
Director of Health MoH Carlos Galvez said the Gorgas Memorial Institute for Health Studies has yet to confirm that the death of an eight-year-old native of Aguadulce, Cocle province, and that of a 28 year old woman of La Higuera, in Chepo are from dengue.
Galvez said the confirmation of these cases will the epidemic death toll to eight.
Meanwhile, the head of the MoH, Javier Diaz, announced that the contingency plan against dengue will continue until the country gets out of the epidemic. The plan was launched by the MoH on December16 and was to end on January 31.
According to Diaz, the current situation is due to the lack of cooperation from businesses and homes eliminate vector breeding sites.
