5,084 young artists take Panama into Guinness Book of World Records
IN LESS THAN four minutes 5,084 young children and teenagers helped establish a new Guinness Book of Records in front of the Panama Canal Administration Center on Saturday, January 18.
They painted a 7,000 square meters sketch, in a timed three and a half minutes endeavor.
They were part of a workshop " Let's Paint the 100 years of the Panama Canal " , organized by the Olga Sinclair Foundation in collaboration with the Canal Authority, and the government.
In a party atmosphere and obvious emotion, Panama managed to set the record for the number of people people who painted a mural simultaneously.
The feat outstripped the previous record set in Saudi Arabia by 3,860 participants. It was certified by representatives of the Guinness World Record organization The canvas sketch was divided into 25 panels.
Organizers estimated that more than 7000 people registered to participate in the activity, which is part of the celebration of the centenary of the opening of the Canal .
