Another claim against Canal Authority
WHILE the big players are meeting to haggle over the $1.8 billion that the expansion consortium is claiming from the the Panama Canal Authority (ACP), another group is seeking $ 44 million.
In the quarterly progress report on the extension (October to December 2013), the ACP says there are claims of the consortium formed by the FCC, ICA and MECO companies who have exhausted domestic conflict remedies conflict resolution and are under evaluation of the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of Panama . The process began in October.
The companies are also asking for an extension on the date of termination.
