Twitter a toy for techie addicts?

IS PRESIDENT Ricardo Martinelli a renowned user of Twitter on the wrong communications track? A new U.S. report says Twitter is for faithful believers that the world is interested in reading all of their opinions.

Previous stories have suggested that many of the president’s Twitter followers are fictitious.

While reports of big losses at the company have appeared, AdAge, the prestigious advertising industry publication carries news that "Users of the microblogging network do not represent real-world consumers.
“Although the network has now reached 230 million users, experts are warning that they are not a fair sample of the population to which companies want to target their advertising messages.”

"Twitter is a place for people addicted to their digital devices, who are terribly worried about missing out on the latest tweet by Edward Snowden and are faithful believers that the whole world is interested in their opinions.
“For some brands, Twitter offers valuable opportunities, but why are more and more companies spending resources and energy trying to get their message to a group of people who have no interest in their brand?” Does that go for politicians too?

One study shows that 57% of Twitter users follow music trends, compared to the 30% of non-users of the network. Another example is that Twitter users in the U.S. prefer ABC or NBC channels, while non- users prefer CBS or Fox"
