Presidents wife as VP candidate perverts Constitution

THE FORMER general secretary of the Attorney General's Office Rigoberto González said that the appointment of the first lady, Marta Martinelli, as a candidate for the vice presidency "violates and perverts" the Constitution.

Gonzalez said Friday that according to the Constitution "the spouse of the President [of the Republic], whoever he is, can be neither presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate."
