Low water pressure hampers firemen in San Felipe

FIREMEN from four stations battled a fire that engulfed a four story building near Iglesia de la Merced in Casco Viejo on Sunday night March 30. 

Their early efforts were hampered by lack of water pressure. 

Firemen climbed stairs in the blazing building located at 9th Street and Avenue B in San Felipe. Preliminary reports said at least five people were injured, and taken to a nearby hospital. Forty people living in the building were affected. The blaze was brought under control at around 10 pm

The Terrace 9, is located between Calle 9 and 11, San Felipe. 

Fire crews from Calidonia, Amador, Balboa, Carrasquilla, Bethany Clayton and Howard attended the emergency, along with five ambulances.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
