Outgoing mayor takes holiday as hand over begins

WHILE Panama’s Mayor elect, Jose Isabel Blandon , is preparing for the transition process the current municipal chief Roxana Mendez has decided it’s time for a vacation
" I talked to her when I found out that I was proclaimed the winner of the race , and she told me she had taken a vacation and would not return until next week," said Blandon.
 The Panameñista , who was accompanied by his fellow party member and president-elect , Juan Carlos Varela said that already chosen several of the people who will work with him during his municipal management , but declined to reveal any.
Blandon said that next week he will begin to meet with elected representatives who form a council divided between larger political currents in the country, Panameñista , Democratic Revolutionary Party ( PRD) and Democratic Change (CD) .
In his speech during the the delivery of credential to by Erasmo Pinilla , presiding judge of the Electoral Tribunal ( TE ) Blandon , said it was hard but necessary to change the style of government of Ricardo Martinelli.
"It's an authoritarian government that persecutes those who are against it," said Blandon.
Said Raisa Banfield, elected Deputy Mayor said.:"It was a very dirty campaign. And I confess that I was afraid to speak out, to participate in the campaign to which I was invited, "said Banfield.
