Third CD electoral win overturned

THE POLITICAL aspirations of another Democratic Change CD) deputy have been dealt a blow by Panama’s Electoral Tribunal (TE) Court .which ordered partial repetition of elections in the circuit 7-2 (Los Santos, Macaracas, Tonosí).

The country’s top electoral body ordered void the proclamation of the Democratic Change deputy Mariela Vega.
The re-run will take place in November in about 15 polling districts ruled ,TE Judge Eduardo Valdés Escoffery,
A Ministry of Finance survey revealed that $1.8 million was transferred in the election period to 18 community boards in circuit 7-2.
Of that total, $1..2 million was given to the Community Board of La Villa de Los Santos, whose   re-elected representative wa Gustavo Vega, brother of the deposed deputy, reports La Prensa
It was also established that 7-2 another $328,000 from the National Assistance Program (PAN) was assigned to the CD candidates.
