OFF THE CUFF: When saying sorry isnt enough
THE NEPOTISM woes of Electoral Tribunal (TE) Judge Erasmo Pinilla continue to dog him, with National Transparency Authority (ANTAI) Director Angélica Maytín demanding on Monday, April 27, that he reveal the full list of relatives who worked within the institution.
According to Maytín, the list should be provided as an extension of the apology for the hirings, offered by Pinilla last week.
Maytín also said that the agency will sign an agreement with the TE to monitor future hirings .
On April 19, after previously saying he had a duty to his family,Pinilla admitted that several members of them worked for the TE.
But he denied that it was a violation of any existing laws since government rules regarding nepotism did not apply to the agency.
He said that the workers were not in senior positions and did their jobs properly according to their supervisors.
The next day, Pinilla and the two other TE judges announced a series of measures, which included the resignation of family members working in the entity.
