Sinaproc green alert lifted
THE CIVIL Defense agency (Sinaproc) green alerts was lifted, Wednesday, May 6 because waves, which sometimes reached over 15 feet have diminished.
“The phenomenon registered in the Pacific since May 2 is weakening,” the agency said.
Sinaproc Director José Donderis warned that swimmers and captains of small vessels must still be cautious.
The weekend of high waves caused a large amount of damage along the coast including a retaining wall in Gorgona, and beachfront hotels. Water flooded parts of Panama City’s Cinta Costera.
