178 homeless after Thursday rain storm

AT LEAST 53 homes, located in various parts of the Arraiján District, in Panama West, were flooded after heavy rains on Thursday June 4, leaving 178 people homeless says the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc).

The affected areas are the old town of Arraijan, Realengo, Cerro Tigre, Nuevo Arraiján, Vista Alegre, La Constancia and El Tecal.
Of the 53 houses affected there was atotal loss of possessions in 24 while in others there is minor damage.
According to the Ministry of Housing and Land Management, there are 106 homeless adults and 72 minors.
