Indigenous leaders plan next Barro Blanco move

FRUSTRATED with delays over a proposed meeting with President Juan Carlos Varela, indigenous leaders Ngäbe Buglé Comarca say they are contemplating new measures to oppose the Barro Blanco hydroelectric project which is 95 percent completed..

They were meeting in Tolè, Chiriquí on Saturday, June 20, to plan their next steps.
Another group of protesters, who are blocking the entrance to the project, are hoping to meet with Varela on June 26 or 27.
