Interpol asked to capture two Panama fugitives

INTERPOL has been asked to capture two  fugitive Panamanian’s wanted in connection with two of the biggest  scandals in the country’s history.

The public prosecutor has asked for the arrest of Adolfo De Obarrio, the l the former private secretary of President Ricardo Martinelli (2009-2014) who fled Panama on Christmas Day last year, and Ignacio Fábrega the former Superintendent of Securities.
Fabrega is wanted in relation to the investigation into irregularities in the brokerage house Financial Pacific, currently in liquidation with the man who originally uncovered the scandal, disappeared, and believed by his relatives to have been murdered.
Fabrega allegedly revealed confidential information to the brokerage house when it was being investigated for financial anomalies.
The information was confirmed by the Attorney General’s Office.
 De Obarrio,is being investigated as part of the irregularities in the  National Assistance Pogram (PAN) and is alleged to be the meesngeer boy between Martinelli and PAN directors involved in corruption.
The 15th Criminal Court has issued an order for his arrest.
Consulted on the application for his capture, De Obarrio’s lawyer, Edna Ramos, said that such requests must be approved by the Interpol Council that is not scheduled to meet until September.
