Canada-Rio Hato direct flights launched

AIR TRANSAT  a major Canadian airline  has launched a seasonal program of two  direct flights a week  from Toronto and Montreal to  Scarlett Martinez airport in Cocle province.

The administration of the Tocumen International Airport in Panama City  said the Canadian company will fly on Monday and Thursday using  an Airbus 737-800 with capacity for 190 passengers, and will make 75 flights during peak season ending April 25. It started

“The decision of Air Transat to  start their route to Rio Hato provides additional options for Canadian tourists with direct flights to this country,” said Joseph Fidanque III, general manager of Tocumen Airport.

“This will contribute to the growth and competitiveness of the airline industry in Panama and Cocle, providing  a great opportunity for travelers from Canada, who wish to visit Rio Hato drawn to the attractions of sun and sand on the Pacific coast of the region, “said Fidanque III.

ir Transat becomes the second Canadian company to arrive at Cocle market after that in April 2014 Sunwing Airlines began operations in Rio Hato.

Between January and June this  28,693 foreign tourists, mainly from Canada, have passed through the Rio Hato Airport.

Air Transat is based in Montreal, Quebec, concentrates on the holiday charter market and operates in 90 destinations in 25 countries.
