Couple with $61,000 spare cash, arrested

A COUPLE  in a double cabin vehicle, found with $61,000 in cash stuffed in stockings and a case in Panama West, are in detention – without their money.

The couple, both Panamanian nationals, are in their forties and were arrested in the El Tecal area while heading towards the interior.They were  taken to police headquarters in Arraiján, where officials of the Drug Prosecutor’s Office searched  the vehicle,

A case contained over $50,000 and more was found stuffed into their stockings

According to the police report, the couple could not justify the origin of the money.
