Rod Carew waiting for heart transplant

PANAMA’S Legendary baseball Hall of Famer Rod Carew, needs a heart transplant .

He, is receiving treatment after suffering a heart attack in September.

The winner of seven American League batting titles, Carew suffered the heart attack on September 20 near his home in California, reported the website MLB.com.

Sports Illustrated reported that Carew, 70, is in good spirits and hopes to be at 2016 spring training with the Minnesota Twins and at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in July.

“I am grateful to the wonderful doctors and nurses that have given me a second chance at life,” he said.
