Extradition moves for Martinelli
NO TIME is being wasted in moving foward with plans to arrest ex-president Ricardo Martinelli and Justice Jeromino Mejia has been notified of the decision of the plenary of the Supreme Court to order the arrest of e and will initiate through the Foreign Ministry steps for his extradition.
Mejía was sent a summary of Monday’s hearing in which the plenum reached their decision. Martinelli is charged with ordering the illegal surveillance of 150 people during his administration.
Martinelli, is thought to be in Miami, where he owns an apartment.
Mejia was also notified of the decision to reject a warning of unconstitutionality presented by Carlos Carrillo, Martinelli’s lawyer, against article 490 of the criminal procedure code.
