Panama Stock Market up 73%
THE ISSUE of 34 new securities , totaling $2.944 billion, sent the Panama stock market soaring 73% more than in 2014 .
Figures from the Department of Registration and Authorisations from the Superintendency of Securities indicate that there were 4 more emissions than in 2014, but what increased the most in annual terms was the volume.
Anpanama.com reports that “….Among the issuers, the most prominent were the developers Panama Real Estate Development Fund ($1 billion); Arrow Capital Corp, which issued corporate bonds for $500 million and the businesses Desarrollos Comerciales S.A., Bayport Enterprises S.A., and Retail Centenario S.A., which issued bonds worth $200 million each. “
The SMV stressed the sector’s growth in a statement, and said that it goes hand in hand with the economic movement of the country. At present there are 204 public issuers among them Panamanian government entities and private companies
