Supreme Court files against outspoken judge

THE BOARD of Directors of the Supreme Court headed by José Ayú Prado filed a complaint against Judge Harry Díaz for alleged “failure to adhere to the standards of transparency and integrity in judicial management.”

The action was presented on  Wednesday evening, January 20,  by Ayu Prado and justices Hernan De León and Luis Ramón Fábrega, two of whom were named by Diaz when he denounced the reelection of Ayu Prado.  Earlier in Knocout, a La Prensa platform, he alleged filing of cases and selling of decisions by judges, He described jailed exjudge Moncada Luna as the tip of the iceberg.

Diaz reacted to the complaint, saying: “I will fight against these and other allegations,” reports La Prensa.

The complaint was filed hours after the Credentials Committee of the National Assembly agreed not to investigate the assertions of Diaz, who claimed that former President Ricardo Martinelli sought to interfere in the election of the Supreme Court chief justice.

The Committee ruled that the request to investigate the statements made by Diaz, and sent by Ayu Prado were not properly submitted.
