Water for Carnival jinks a crime

THE USE of hundreds of gallons of water for  Carnival in Herrera and Los Santos is a  “crime” says  Minister of Agricultural Development, Jorge Arango.

Citing the drought caused by the El Nino phenomenon he said: “You can do carnivals without wasting water, “

He said that , all provinces have a degree of involvement and Panama has  to change the  pattern of wasting drinking  water, drinking water for washing cars, and watering plants and allowing  pipes to  burst in the city that nobody repairs.

“I very much hope that the water that will be drawn from the rivers will be carried to pastures and agricultural production areas instead of to the carnival,” he said.
