Backup power failure closes Albrook airport

A  GENERATOR that was supposed to provide backup electrical power to the Marcos A. Gelabert Airport in Albrook failed to function early on Thursday morning  February 18,  and caused  a shut down for several hours.

Service was restored to the terminal at 7:45 a.m.

Carlos Pashales, director of airports for the Civil Aviation Authority, reported that the first flight of the day, which was supposed to arrive from David at 7 a.m., was delayed for 30 minutes. Outgoing passengers who had arrived for early check in had longer waits
