Ocean to Ocean craft break records

THE ALARMA 24 and Reebok boats continued to dominate the 63rd version of the  Ocean to Ocean Cayuco race on Saturday after a rocky day in the wake of passing tugs.

The world’s only ocean to ocean watercraft race which lasts three days started on Friday in Puerto Cristobal Colon.

Alarma 24 dominated the male youth section crossing first to the checkered flag behind them came Chava, who had disputed to the end of t during the 20 nautical mile stretch  from the Gatun locks  to  Gamboa.

Unofficial time , Chava by Alarm 24  and Chava show they both achieved new Official times from the  the Balboa Paddle Club are pending..

Some of the complaints of those participating in the  event was that tugs of  Maritime Authority of Panama, were making a lot of waves, which could lead to accidents between boats.

Nossa Vitoria came in the first female cayuco open sleeve.

The competition ends Sunday,  departing from  Gamboa and finishing at the public ramp in  Diablo. There;s music, food and entertainment for all who want to watch the water marathoners complete their journey and arry   their cayucos ashore,
