Cuban migrants moved to holding camp

OVER 400 CUBAN migrants who will be housed at Camp Planess de Gualaca, in the northern part of Chiriqui were transferred  under heavy guard from San Isidro in Bugaba, near Paso Canoas, in the early hours of Friday morning, April 22.

They were transported  in 11 buses of the Panama Fire Service  and the National Police

They will remain in limbo at the camp  until the end  of the immigration crises in Central America and Panama.

Cubans reached by TVN  said  they were unhappy with the move, because the site  is away from shopping centers and they will find it hard to make  contact with their families in Miami and Cuba, so they hope  the move will be a transitional step.

Security agencies and the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) denied  media entry to the place where they would be housed to see if conditions  and hygienic facilities, for their stay.

It is expected that in the coming hours the transfer of up to a thousand Cuban will take place according to SINAPROC director Jose Donderis,
