Three in fiery crash among 8 road deaths

TWO YOUNG parents and their five-yar-old child died in a horrific accident on Sunday May 1, when their car skidded on a wet road, crashed into a tree and burst into flames  in Nata,  Cocle.They were  among eight deaths in another weekend of highway carnage.

Firefighters  arrived to douse the fire and retrieve the bodies. The latest tragedies bring the number of traffic fatalities in the first 121 days of the year to 169 on a pace to far outstrip the total of 414 recorded in 2015, and surpass the highest black level of 486.

Two people were killed and two critically injured  early Sunday on  via Los Llanos-Ocú in Herrera.

A Transit source investigating the case, said the causes of the accident was unknown, but it is presumed that the driver lost control, crashed into a ditch and then rolled over.

Another two people died   and  two children  seriously injured in two incidents in  Chiriqui on Saturday

The first took place in the afternoon in Potrerillos, when Jacqueline Gonzalez, 33,    lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a fixed object,

Two children were badly hurt and taken to hospital.

On Saturday evening a pedestrian man was hit and killed by a freight truck in San Felix.

A 30-year-old woman died on Sunday evening when a pickup carrying building blocks in which she was traveling, rolled down an  embankments in Alto Algarrobo
