The raid was carried out for data on the possible use of the firm to “conceal or promote illegal activities” after a global journalistic investigation that would have uncovered alleged irregular practices of offshore companies through the firm, was disclosed.

Guillermina McDonald, a lawyer for Mossack Fonseca, claimed that the  the search warrant breached the  inviolability of the home privacy and confidentiality of communications and correspondence” of the firm.

The Court declared “not proven” the incident raised by McDonald, according to  the Attorney General’s Office.
