State bank scandal investigations continue

Former Caja de Ahorros board member Ricardo Arango Pezet  and  formerManager Jayson Pastor were interviewed by  anticorruption prosecutors on Tuesday  Oct. 25 about a controversial loan granted by the state-owned bank during their tenures.

That loan, for $9 million, was made to the consortium that received the contract to build the Amador convention center. he loan has attracted attention because most of the money ended up in accounts linked to shell companies that had nothing to do with the project.

Both men were also interviewed by prosecutors last week.

Former bank Chairman Riccardo Francolini and former Deputy Managerr Rodrigo Arosemena Pino have been preventatively detained since October 12.
