New moves to normalize life during coronavirus pandemic

After months of prevarication, Panama’s Health Ministry and President Cortizo have moved to bring some sense of reality to the mobility restrictions and ease the sense of  cabin fever of  the population.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa)  has eliminated the exit restriction by ID in Panama and Panama Oeste as of Monday, August 24 and people will have time to take advantage of the re-opened businesses including beauty salons and barbers or head to the golf course or tennis courts.

Minister Luis Sucre announced  on Tuesday, August 17 that  starting  Monday, August 24   exits  from home will be  allowed  by  gender from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm

and the total lockdown on Saturday will be eliminated

Meanwhile, in Bocas del Toro, Chiriquí and Colón exit restrictions by time and gender continue, and next week An epidemiological evaluation of those regions will be carried out.

The practice of sports that do not require physical contact is authorized; and the reopening of real estate offices, appraisals and distributors of non-food products, such as clothing, textiles, and cosmetics; from bookstores and other businesses that sell online.

Parties and meetings are still prohibited in the social areas of apartment buildings.

On Tuesday the, total of coronavirus  cases reached 82,790 with 1,809 deaths from Covid-19
