Rising rivers alerts – more bad weather forecast
The Guazarito River in Calovébora, Santa Fe district, in Veraguas, continues rising said a warning notice from the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) on Friday, August 16.
“The river is growing and with strong currents. We ask the population to wait for the levels to drop,” said Sinaproc in its Twitter account.
The warning follows a similar announcement on Thursday, about the increase in the flow of the Zaratí River, in the province of Coclé.
Midweek rains brought down trees and power lines across Panama and flooded streets in the capital. More bad weather is forecast.
