3 dead, 3 injured as pickup ploughs into bus stop

Two people were killed and three injured when the driver of a pickup, slammed into a bus stop after colliding with a sedan on the José Agustín Arango road , in  Villa Lorena, Río Abajo during a heavy downpour on Saturday morning, October 12.

A woman standing at the stop was killed instantly.  The second victim died on the way to the San Miguel Arcángel hospital.

A third person arrived without vital signs at the Manuel María Valdés hospital.
 

Passing motorists and customers in two nearby shops rushed to assist the victims before the arrival of Sume 911 Emergency Service ambulances.

The latest deaths raise the toll on Panama roads this year to  226.
