Laundering probe of Ex-president Varela continues

Former President Juan Carlos Varela spent another day in the office of the Anticorruption Prosecutor on Wednesday, September 30, to expand the  investigation into the Odebrecht bribery case;

 In addition, TVN reports  that he filed an appeal with the Supreme Court

Through his legal representative, Orison Cogley, he presented constitutional guarantee protection requesting that the investigation order for alleged money laundering issued against him be annulled,

Varela alleges that due process and his right to defense have been violated, because they investigated him and applied precautionary measures, when the investigation must be carried out in the Electoral Prosecutor’s Office when receiving political donations for an electoral campaign, by the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht
