Florida governor bans vaccine passports
The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis , prohibited on Friday, April 2, the use of “vaccine passports” in this state, while the European Union advances in discussions to create the di ital health certificate for almost month. China has launched theirs.
The Republican governor’s executive order prohibits government offices from issuing any document comparable to so-called “vaccine passports” for the purpose of certifying that an individual has been immunized against COVID-19.
It also prohibits private companies in Florida from requiring their clients to provide any type of document certifying their vaccination or immunity after they have recovered from the coronavirus.
The DeSantis order explains that “so-called vaccine passports reduce individual freedom and harm patient privacy.”
