Eve of strike lab workers reach agreement with Health Ministry
Julio Nieto, president of the National College of Clinical Laboratories, announced on Sunday that an agreement had been reached with the Ministry of Health (Minsa), but to end the strike called for Monday would need approval by an extraordinary assembly which will take place on Monday 24 May at 3:00 pm so that the strike will only affect external consultation laboratories, responding to what was agreed at the dialogue table with the Minsa. Nieto said that almost all the points they raised were agreed upon and dates were established to solve each one of them, in addition, minutes of the meeting were signed and a draft was prepared to present to the extraordinary assembly.
“The strike measure is maintained because only an extraordinary assembly can lift the strike, however, we have made the strike guidelines more flexible. Unfortunately, our statute does not allow us to hold an extraordinary assembly on Sundays,” said Nieto, adding that all agreements have a completion time of no more
