Anticorruption prosecutors visit three Loteria offices
The Primary Care Section of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office carried out a new inspection of the National Lottery in the afternoon of Monday, May 24, as part of the investigations for alleged irregularities in the entity.
The visual inspections took place at the headquarters and in the agencies of Los Pueblos and San Miguelito.
Crime scene personnel from the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences also participated
Last Wednesday, the Prosecutor’s Office carried out an inspection at the institution. It was reported that it was seeking to collect information on the investigation for the alleged commission of the crimes of embezzlement, abuse of authority, and corruption of a public official.
Currently, Lotería is under the control of the Molirena Party, an ally of the ruling Democratic Revolutionary Party. Its director is Gloriela Del Río and there are increasing calls for her removal.
