Education Minister Maruja Gorday de Villalobos announced on Wednesday, August 18 the measures that will govern this progressive return of teachers to schools throughout the country, including the adjustment in physical distance in schools from two meters to one which will allow a greater turnout and participation of the students.

The Minister said that the teachers themselves must make the coordination in their educational centers, especially with those who had requested their return and those who work with the blended or tutoring system.

According to Meduca, the return of educators to classrooms is based on scientific evidence from the Ministry of Health (Minsa), the Social Security Fund and other entities that indicate that no school-based covid-19 infections have been registered.

The return of supervisors, directors and administrative officials to develop activities from the school center was also  announced.

The return will be according to the different modalities and seeks to promote greater accompaniment to the student and their families, with the application of biosafety measures, Meduca detailed.

The obligation to use masks, body temperature measurements and other procedures established in the biosafety protocol will continue to be in force, both for curricular and extracurricular activities.

In addition, the weekly follow-up and monitoring between the Directorate of Environmental Education, the Minsa and its links in the regions will continue regarding the behavior of the pandemic by township and school zone.
