Four with links to jailed drug lord arrested
An operation that began when ammunition issued to agents of the National Aeronaval Service (Senan) went missing led to the arrest on Tuesday, January 25. of four other people linked to the “Chivo” operation which has the objective of dismantling a criminal network dedicated to drug trafficking.
One of those arrested is a worker at one of the ports located in Panama Oeste, however the authorities did not identify the company.
The operation uncovered alleged links with Eduardo Macea, alias Marshall, to whom the authorities attribute control of routes for the cocaine trafficking to Europe through container ports in the province of Colón.
Macea is currently detained in the maximum penal center, located in Punta Coco.
On the night of January 23, the Prosecutor’s Office managed to get a judge to order the provisional arrest of 23 people for the alleged commission of the crime of conspiracy.
The investigation began after Senan detected the loss of ammunition delivered to agents assigned to patrol and monitor the Panamanian coast.
