Protestors on 8-hour march to the presidency
Indigenous groups and teachers began a peaceful march from Pacora to the Presidency early on Thursday on a march expected, last, at least 8 hours to deliver a letter urging a speed-up in the negotiations in Penonome.
Kevin Sánchez, indigenous leader of the Pacora Base, commented that they will be delivering the letter to demand the speeding up of the processes discussed at the dialogue table, in which they have already agreed to reduce food and medicine prices.
They will also request that in addition to the sectoral dialogue table, a regional table also be executed since there are many local problems that come from various governments and have not been discussed. “We demand that there be a regional table to discuss and seek solutions to the problems that the communities have,” Sánchez told the digital media 24/7 Noticias.
