No mask in Health Centers
The President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, and the Minister of Health, Francisco Sucre, ordered the lifting, through an Executive Decree, of the mandatory use of the masks in all public and private health facilities in the country.
The mandatory use of masks for users, of health facilities was established as part of the health measures adopted by the National Government to avoid, control, and mitigate the spread of the contagious disease called Covid-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its variants.
However, according to Executive Decree number 65 published in the Official Gazette this Thursday, December 7, 2023, the National Government considers it is prudent to eliminate the mandatory use of masks in all health facilities in the country, public and private, taking into consideration the results achieved by the vaccination strategy against covid-19, the significant decrease in epidemiological indicators, the acquisition of medications of proven efficacy, among other aspects.
