HEALTH; Ministry withdraws ranadine heartburn tablets
All tablets containing ranitidine have been withdrawn from the Panamanian market said Panama’s Ministry of Health (Minsa), on Thursday, October 3
The Directorate of Pharmacy and Drugs, said the standard applies to ranitidine tablets, but not to injectables or pediatric use.
Elvia Lau, national director of Pharmacy and Drugs of the Minsa, recommended the population that consumes these products go to their doctors to receive timely care and take appropriate measures if they suspect any side effects.
The FDA advised consumers who take ranitidine medications for heartburn and other gastric ailments that consider alternative therapies while investigating whether the products contain levels of a potentially carcinogenic substance for humans,
