The Chamber of Commerce Says that the World of Coffee Opens Businesses but Panama Must Improve its Competitiveness.
World of Coffee Panama 2026 opens opportunities to boost business, attract investment and promote national coffee, but the country must strengthen its competitiveness to take advantage of these international events, said Aurelio Barría Pino, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama. In a message, Barría highlighted that the event has brought together producers, buyers, businesspeople and specialists from different countries, in addition to showcasing the quality of Panamanian coffee and the country’s ability to organize international meetings.

However, he pointed out that the challenge is to ensure that the benefits of these events are maintained in the long term, through new business relationships, investments, alliances and opportunities for tourism. The president of the Chamber considered it necessary to reduce bureaucracy, facilitate business, strengthen the training of national talent and generate confidence among those who wish to invest in Panama. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that opportunities reach small and medium-sized businesses, entrepreneurs, and producers through access to new markets, technology, and buyers. Barría argued that the success of World of Coffee should not be measured solely by the number of visitors, but by the ability to convert that interest into business, investments, and new opportunities for the country.
