These Were the Winners of the Best of Panama 2026: The Kings of Geisha Coffee

The 30th edition celebrated the past, present, and future of specialty coffee cultivation and its legacy for new generations. Lamastus Family Estates was the winner in the washed Geisha category.

The 30th edition of the Best of Panama competition in July 2026 highlights the world’s finest Geisha coffee lots, evaluated by national and international judges in Chiriquí. This milestone year celebrates elite estates and record-breaking micro-lots from volcanic highlands like Boquete and Volcán.

  • Finca Nuguo: Highlighted on international stages, such as the World Brewers Cup 2026 winning routine.
  • Lamastus Family Estates & Hacienda La Esmeralda: Renowned benchmark producers famous for record-setting auction lots and historical sweep categories.
  • Flavor Notes: Characterized by tea-like clarity, jasmine, bergamot, delicate citrus, and complex tropical fruit profiles.

The celebration of the aroma and flavor of Panamanian coffee celebrated its 30th edition with the Best of Panama, a competition that has become the main showcase for the cultivation, processing and marketing of the country’s specialty coffee.  In the Geisha Natural category, first place went to Finca Lérida, owned by María Antonela Amoruso, with 95.63 points, while Altieri Specialty Coffee, owned by the Altieri family, won in the Varietals category with 93.63 points.
