Ahead of the 2026 World Cup Final the Argentine Tide Invades Times Square

Thousands of Argentinians filled the heart of New York with flags, chants, and a shared dream of seeing Argentina conquer its fourth World Cup against Spain.

Argentine passion took over Times Square.  Just hours before the grand final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a multitude of Albiceleste fans gathered this Saturday in one of the most emblematic places in New York to carry out the traditional flag-waving and demonstrate that the dream of a fourth star is more alive than ever. With flags held high, smiles on their faces, jerseys adorned in blue and white, and chants echoing through the enormous neon signs of Manhattan, Argentine fans transformed Times Square into a sea of ​​blue and white. The hopes of an entire nation spilled onto the streets of New York before the decisive match against Spain.

Among the chants that were heard most was “The Fourth Star”, a song that has become a true anthem for Argentine fans during this World Cup and that represents the desire to add a new title to the conquests obtained in Argentina 1978, Mexico 1986 and Qatar 2022.

The celebratory atmosphere was accompanied by a large-scale security operation. Hours before the game, perimeter controls were established in the Times Square area, with road closures on Seventh Avenue, Broadway, and 46th and 47th Streets, to ensure the smooth running of the fan gathering.  The Argentine celebration in New York reflects the anticipation of a nation that dreams of once again lifting the most important trophy in world football. Now, all that hope will reach its climax this Sunday, when the Albiceleste face Spain in the 2026 World Cup final.

Flags, chants, and a shared dream brought together thousands of Argentinians in the heart of New York. 


The match will be played at MetLife Stadium starting at 2:00 pm, in a special duel between the champions of America and Europe, two teams that arrive at the last match of the tournament with the mission of writing a new page in the history of football.
