Former Collaborator of Gerardo Solís and Odila Castillo, Zenia Vásquez de Palacios Has Been Captured
The Superior Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office arrested Zenia Vásquez de Palacios, former general secretary of the Comptroller’s Office, for alleged unjustified enrichment of $771,137.
Zenia Vásquez de Palacios, former general secretary of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) during Gerardo Solís’s administration, was arrested this Thursday morning as part of an investigation into alleged unjustified enrichment. Sources from the Public Ministry confirmed that the procedure was carried out by officials from the Superior Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, as a result of a forensic audit prepared by the CGR.

Former Comptroller’s Secretary Arrested for Alleged Unjust Enrichment
Zenia Vásquez de Palacios, former general secretary of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) during Gerardo Solís’s administration, was arrested on Thursday morning as part of an investigation into alleged unjustified enrichment. The former official could not justify the origin of $771,137. Sources from the Public Ministry confirmed that the procedure was carried out by officials from the Superior Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office , as a result of an audit prepared by the CGR. The detainee will be presented in the next few hours before a judge for a hearing to formally charge her and apply personal precautionary measures. Vásquez was also a partner in a forensic firm, with lawyer Odila Castillo.
Zenia Vásquez de Palacios was unable to account for more than $771,000, according to an audit by the Comptroller General of the Republic.
