Project in Bella Vista Halted by Authorities after Detecting Illegal Waste Dumping into the Matasnillo River

Panama’s Ministry of Environment (Miambiente) ordered the immediate halt of a construction project in the Marbella sector, Bella Vista district, after detecting an illegal discharge of contaminated water that directly affected the Matasnillo River.  A video circulating on social media shows a large amount of water with sediment, similar to concrete mix, flowing from a pipe and falling directly into the Matasnillo River.
