The Panama City ‘Seafood Market’ will be Closed Monday April 6 for Scheduled Maintenance

In addition to the Seafood Market, the San Felipe Neri Market will also be closed. Find out the restaurant hours and when it will reopen to the public.

The Municipality of Panama City announced that the Seafood Market will remain closed this Monday, April 6, due to a deep cleaning and fumigation day.  The temporary suspension is part of a sanitation program that includes:

  • Pressure washing of areas
  • Internal and external fumigation
  • Disinfection of modules
  • Maintenance of green areas

These works are carried out by the Directorate of Municipal Markets to guarantee the safety in the sale of products for human consumption.

Restaurants will be open with special hours

Despite the market closure, the restaurant area will operate that same Monday:

  • From 1:00 pm

Seafood Market reopens and resumes normal hours

Starting Tuesday, April 7, the Seafood Market will resume its regular hours:

  • Wholesalers: 1:00 am to 10:00 am
  • General public: 5:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Restaurants: 10:00 am to 11:30 pm

Authorities suggest visitors plan their purchases in advance and take these temporary adjustments into account.
