Panama’s senior national football team achieved a 2-1 victory in their second friendly match against South Africa, which took place at DHL Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa.  Panama’s goals were scored by center-backs José ‘Coto’ Córdoba in the 58th minute and Jiovany Ramos in the 77th minute. Córdoba and Ramos scored their first goals for the national team.

After a somewhat lackluster first half in attack, Panama showed improvement in the second half, in which they scored both goals.  It should be noted that Botafogo striker Kadir Barría started the match, but he was unable to make an effective impact, as he had few opportunities during his time on the pitch.  With this match, Panama concludes its tour of South Africa, having tied 1-1 last Friday and won 2-1 this Tuesday. Both matches are part of Panama’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the national team is in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Ghana.
