The Oscars Arrived Last Night: ‘One Battle After Another’ and ‘Sinners’ Faced Off in Their Final Duel
Experts said “Sinners” and “One Battle After Another” were neck and neck, but possibly films like “Hamnet” or “The Secret Agent” could pull off a surprise.
Hollywood, United States: The red carpet and golden curtains are rolled out for the grand finale of Hollywood’s awards season. The Oscars took place Sunday with the final showdown between “One Battle After Another” and “Sinners,” the favorites to be crowned film of the year. The 98th edition of the gala, hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien, included electrifying and emotional moments, such as a live performance of the song nominated by “K-pop Warriors,” and a tribute to actor Robert Redford, who passed away last year. The actors lost this year was a very memorable section of the show.

One Battle After Another Wins Best Picture
The literary adaptation Frankenstein had a strong run in the technical categories, sweeping up awards for Best Costume, Best Production Design and Best Hair and Makeup.
The 98th annual Academy Awards honored Paul Thomas Anderson’s film One Battle After Another with six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor and the inaugural award for Best Casting.
The night’s other frontrunner, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, was no slouch, bringing home Best Actor, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Original Score, four awards of the 16 it was nominated for.
The Best Live Action Short category ended in a tie, only the seventh time that has happened in Oscar’s history.
