A Vehicle Loaded with Drugs and Vapes is Seized in Chiriquí Province Panama
One person was arrested by the National Police for this crime. The suspect will be brought before a judge in the coming hours to be formally charged.
What seemed like a routine journey through the streets of the David district ended in a decisive police raid. In a lightning operation, units of the National Anti-Drug Directorate (DNAD) intercepted a shipment of drugs hidden in a private vehicle. The operation, carried out in close coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, focused on a van whose interior hid more than just luggage.
Upon initiating the search and seizure, the uniformed officers unearthed 32 rectangular packages of suspected drugs, the core of the illegal shipment. However, what caught the attention of the competent authorities was the variety of the criminal inventory.
The seized “menu” included: 10 electronic cigarettes (vapes); three plastic bags with herb, presumably marijuana; a bottle with a liquid synthetic substance pending analysis and technological equipment (cell phones) and cash that point to active commercialization. At the scene, a subject was apprehended, whose identity is being kept confidential, and was immediately taken before the competent authorities.
Both the suspect and the evidence were placed under the orders of the Prosecutor’s Office for Drug-Related Crimes of Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro. According to spokespeople for the National Police, these actions seek to “clean up” the streets and weaken the micro-trafficking structures that operate in the west of the country, reinforcing security and peaceful coexistence in the national territory.
