Panamanians Celebrate Traditional Dress in the Parade of a Thousand Polleras

More than 15 thousand people in traditional dress march in a parade that winds through the streets of Las Tablas city in Panama. The event is called the Parade of a Thousand Polleras, which is a type of long, brightly-decorated skirt traditionally worn in certain parts of Latin America.

This is the event’s eighth year and Panama’s minister of tourism, says that this year, 109 local and international delegations participated in the parade, along with 39 handmade floats.
