Joint Training Exercises with US Marines will Continue in Panama Until February

According to official information issued by the National Aeronaval Service, the training is taking place at the Jungle School of the Admiral Cristóbal Colón Air Naval Base and at the Marine Corps of the Captain of Frigate Noel Antonio Rodríguez Justavino Naval Base.

Panama City, Panama: Panama will be the setting for a joint security training program, which will take place from January 12 to February 26 , with the participation of Panamanian agents and US military personnel.  According to official information released by the National Aeronaval Service, the training will take place at the Jungle Warfare School of the Admiral Cristóbal Colón Naval Air Base and at the Marine Corps base of the Captain of Frigate Noel Antonio Rodríguez Justavino Naval Base.  Sixty-one specialized units from the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN), the National Police, and the National Border Service (SENAFRONT) will participate in these exercises, along with 50 U.S. Marines, who will remain in the country throughout the program. 

Authorities explained that this training is part of bilateral cooperation between Panama and the United States, and aims to strengthen the technical, tactical, and operational capabilities of Panamanian security forces. The activities will be geared towards improving interoperability, professional preparedness and the ability to respond to different operational scenarios, and are complemented by regional exercises such as PANAMAX, focused on the protection of strategic infrastructure.  According to reports, these training exercises contribute to strengthening national security, as well as protecting the Panama Canal and other strategic interests of the country.  The authorities stressed that all activities will be carried out with strict respect for national sovereignty, within the framework of Panamanian legislation and current cooperation agreements.
